Stewardship is a very important part of our Blueways Program and you can help by either adopting a landing, waterway, or island. Groups agree to pick up litter at least four times a year for a two year commitment-You can also do a one-time cleanup. Keep Berkeley Beautiful provides the bags, grabbers and gloves.

You can combine many other activities with your paddling experience. Just to name a few, bird and nature watching are a natural byproduct of paddling. For the history buffs, there is an opportunity to experience the sights and sounds as well as view some of the more historically important ruins and trails that have survived through the years. For the fisherman, the stealthy nature of the craft while fishing combined with the relaxed pace of movement can contribute to a greater understanding and appreciation of your quarry.
